The Cucinelli F/W 2013 collection has arrived!! It's the only show that's fun to unpack... Well maybe not "fun" but for sure the most exciting. This collection is pretty edgy for Cucinelli. It's nice to seem them mixing it up. Gotta run for now, it's the busiest few days of year!!!!

Not trying to brag or anything, but I've met Chadwick Bell a few times...and he. is. major. He was Lady J's date to Crystal Charity Ball in December, and he's come to the store a few times. I just love that we carry such an inspiring designer who truly knows the definition of chic.

Bring on the NEW



Christian Siriano did pastels for spring in the most accessible way possible. Every age group can wear these pieces and feel fun, flirty, and beautiful. This Project Runway prodigy is not only one of my favorite designers, but one of my favorite people.



Wes Gordon is a new designer for the industry, and a new designer here, at Stanley Korshak. His looks are so inventive and fierce...so obviously, we're obsessed. He will be in the store in April, and we are so excited to meet this new fashion genius.

 

Dear Diary,
So many new and exciting things happening these days up in Couture. We are always on the lookout for the best of the best when it comes to emerging designers, and when they arrive, it's like a breath of fresh air. Around this time of year (aka Spring...not that you can tell here, in Texas), we get so excited about all the new spring merchandise...and everyone does their happy dances.

Ladies who luncheon

Dear Diary,

Today was the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Luncheon at the Morton H Meyerson Symphony Center. Our beloved leader, Crawford Brock, was given an award for hosting this one-of-a-kind fashion show and luncheon for many years. Us assistants held down the fort, but got to enjoy people watching when the ladies returned to the store for champagne and shopping.

Dear Diary,

We are in LOVE with this new Nina Ricci resort dress that just arrived...I mean, how could we not be? I'm thinking it needs to become a permanant part of my wardrobe...but I'm willing to relinquish it to one of our fabulous customers...I dare you to come and take it.

But seriously, this dress is amazing, those butterflies are hand painted onto the dress, and if you saw Nat's Instagram earlier, (#butterflies #pastels) you know she's freaking out over it.

And then there was three...

Dear Diary,

We would like to introduce you to our newest addition, coming all the way from downstairs in shoes...Julia (or Jules) will be our Valentino, Lanvin, and Fendi go-to-girl/assistant buyer. We saw it only fitting that she join Diary of a Couture Assistant, since she is technically a "couture assistant". We love Jules to death, and we are very excited to have her impeccable taste and her height (she's our own lil "daddy long legs" and we're her "rollie pollies")

Out of Hibernation

Dear Diary,

So sorry for the length of our absense, we have been in hibernation from the cold weather (aka technical difficulties). The penguins are finally gone, I guess you could say they've migrated to a colder climate now that the sun is out...and BOY, is it sunny up in Couture. We've never seen so much COLOR, red, yellow, orange, pink, blue...you name it we have it. Something tells me the future is going to be bright!!
